What is UltimateEPC?
UltimateEPC is a development at the base of MixW2EPC. There was an ADIF
file converter and award checking module implemented.
Why asked the software for my personal datas?
These datas are the same as you give if you apply for an award via the
application site, the software generates the header of the application.
If you hold more than one call sign you have the possibility to create
a set of datas for each of them. If you request for an award be sure
that you choose the right set ;-).
What will do UltimateEPC with my log datas?
UltimateEPC converts your HRD / DM780 (*.mdb), DXKeeper (*.mdb), MixW
(*.log) or ADIF file into a special ADIF file for the award
application. Your log datas will be shrunk at first. All qso's before
01. January 2000 were not considered, only qso's in (BQ)PSK(31, 63,
125), MT63, Q15, GMSK and CHIP were processed. For qso's after 10. June
2006 the software adds EPC number and area (if known).
In the case of the ADIF processing the at least following qso data are
expected:
<CALL>, <QSO_DATE>,
<TIME_ON>, <BAND> or <FREQ>
and <MODE>.
Additionally if available:
<GRIDSQUARE> formated like JO41AA or JO41
<IOTA> formated like EU-111
<CQZ> and <ITUZ> both consist of one or two
numbers
If the datas have another format than the recommended they will be
ignored.
CQ and ITU zones were generated from the software, if datas available
there were taken. in case of VK, UA, W, VE, PY and BY our zones will be
taken, usually they are more exact than from the log generated.
The data developed in such way were sent through the evaluation module,
provided afterwards an overview report. If necessary the single results
are represented.
The award application
All awards can be applied directly at the managers, simply clicking the
"Apply" button, during a existing InterNet connection
the result file will be sent to the manager automatically.
The evaluations of the awards depends on the topicality of the member
datas. These datas will be updated usually once per day, so it will be
a good choice to check for updates before applying for an award.
Operating instructions
UltimateEPC was programmed according to KISS (Keep It Short and simple
one). There is only few control element available.
"Open standard logfile ..."
The standard log file would be opened (one-click solution).
"Open"
Select a log file.
"Userdata"
Create, change or select different sets of personal datas.
You can also run UltimateEPC
from mobile
storage devices, just mark the "Use USB stick" checkbox and select a
path to store your portable UltimateEPC. Now you can run UltimateEPC for
example
at an
internet cafe.
"Update"
Download a new data file from the InterNet and updates UltimateEPC, the
Smart Update checks also for newer software versions, which can be
automatically downloaded.
"Save"
On some tabs you find the Button "Save", this creates one the
appropriate files. With this ADIF file you can apply for the awards
via the EPC homepage.
"Apply"
Sends a award application to the manager, requires an existing
and open InterNet connection.
"My Awards"
this is an overview tab which shows you the status of all awards.
"worked" and "requested" will be set from the software, "ok"
for all awards have to be set your own. You can edit the status values
easily by left clicking the field.
"DM780 Alarm list"
You could build up an alarmlist with non worked
070, 30MDG, BDM, CDG, DMC, DQSO, EPC, FH, OBC or OMC members, also
decreased to an EU Area or group of Areas or awards in case of EPC.
"Statistics"
A small overview of the number of members in the countries
with EPC number and area. After a check you will see also the worked
stations and who is still missing ;-)
"Synchronize XML portable -> XML"
The
award entries for your callsign in the XML file will be replaced by the
portable ones.
That's all...easy, isn't it?
Why i never received an award?
Have you filled the Options with proper infos or gave wrong datas or
did you apply one hundred times for the same award...

During developing UltimateEPC it was tested with ADIF exports from the
following log programms:
AALog, ADIFMaster, CQLOG, CQRLOG, DENIK, DX4WIN, DXKeeper, DigiPan,
eQSL.cc, GenLog, HAM Office, HQLog, Ham Radio Deluxe, HamLog v0.7.1
beta, Log Projekt, Logger32, MixW v 2.0, MultiPSK, N1MM Logger,
PC-ProfiLog, Paper Chasers' Log, ProLog2K, RadioGes, SWISSLOG, UR5EQF
log, VE6YP log, VQLog, WINLOG32 and XMLog.
The software runs with Windows XP and Vista, if you consider the
obstacles of UAC.
